2005: Best Final in Sony Open History

At the Sony Open in 2005, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal met for only the second time ever. This was a much anticipated matchup, with a then 17 year old Nadal having won the initial matchup the year before.

This clash in Miami took a different, but no less thrilling, turn in that Federer was able to avenge his loss by winning the title in five sets. The twist in the plot was that Federer was down two sets and a break and was able to come back and win the match 2-6, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-1.

The epic comeback made this match memorable, but more importantly, this match confirmed that the tennis world was witnessing the beginning of an all time great rivalry.
