About Averil
Hello, my name is Averil and I’m from the great state of New York. I have been playing tennis for as long as memory can serve me. I played USTA and played at a very high level coming out of high school. I was all-city and all-state in my high school junior and senior year. I played at a small junior college in Long Island and tried the amateur circuit for a little while until I fractured my ankle. Teaching became a passion of mine simply because I like to see growth in my clients and watch them develop their games to their full potential. I taught under the great Bill Briggs of Youth and Tennis Academy in New York also with the NYJTL program as well.

My style of teaching is a blend of old school and new school techniques. I believe in mastering the basics and then building your game around that.
