About Beckie
Hi, my name is Beckie. I’m a PTR tennis professional 4, a national board certified teacher, and have a masters in instructional technology from Appalachian State University. I was ranked in the top-5 in singles and doubles in North Carolina for 12 years. I was also a linesman for professional tournaments and worked with Billie Jean King, Pete Collins and Ian Davidson. I have been sponsored by numerous racquet companies and currently I am sponsored by HEAD. I am operator and owner of Northern Foothills Tennis Club, I have coached many tournament players who were top-ranked and continued on to play college tennis. I am a certified trainer for Billie Jean King “Eye Coach.” I teach ages 4-8, 9-11, 12-17 and adults. I love the game and love to teach!

Teaching Style
I am very strict with proper form, consistence and stress a positive attitude. I think a player must enjoy what they are doing and from there success will come. I focus on mental toughness and place a lot of focus on proper service motion, which is the most important skill. I also work on service return which I believe is the second most important skill.
Hobbies
I enjoy working out on a daily basis, I do the Les Mills Body Pump three times per week. I do boot camp at 5 a.m., and also run road races, for example the Bear! In the summer I love to paddle board, kayak, And run almost every day. I love the outdoors! I believe in good health and fitness. I like to read when I can, especially when I go to the beach. I grew up playing the drums. I played high school marching, concert and later played in the college symphony. I played high school tennis and on the men’s team in College.
