About Bill
Hi, my name is Bill. I started playing tennis at Claremont High School and at the colleges Citrus JC and Azusa Pacific. My tennis coach was Andrea Fletcher (Billie Jean King’s doubles partner) and I spent five years on the professional satellite tour. I have taught for various rec departments in Claremont, Upland and Apple Valley in California as well as numerous tennis clubs (Rancho Mediterrean Racket Club in Colton). I was a head tennis coach at Silverado High School and spent 16 years teaching Boys and Girls Club tennis. I have been playing tennis for 40 years and teaching professionally for 35 years. My playing style is modeled after Jimmy Connors’ attacking game. At age 60 I still play four to six sets of singles per week!

Teaching Experience: years

Teaching Style
I put an emphasis on basics and keeping strokes as simple as possible. I teach all strokes including forehands, backhands, slices and spins. I teach in a professional, no-stress atmosphere. My lessons are structured on what’s best for the student with a variety of drills, both mental and physical, to achieve their goals. My teaching style could be described as easygoing and flexible, but your stroke progression will be highly watched and disciplined.

Hobbies
Hobbies are target shooting, traveling, reading, WW2 history, fishing, and collecting WW2 collectibles.
