About Blair
Playing tennis and teaching the game of tennis to children and adults has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up in a tennis family, went to tennis camps, played tournaments for my school, coach tennis in my community and coach a high school tennis team. I also play on two-three teams of my own because I have a competitive side that needs a healthy outlet! I am a Pennsylvania native, went to college in upstate New York, and moved to Atlanta in 2001. I love teaching high school English; working with teenagers is one of the most rewarding jobs out there. Being able to combine that with coaching tennis after school is like hitting the jackpot.

Teaching Experience: 10 years

Teaching Style
I am a seasoned 4.5 USTA/ALTA tennis player and tennis coach in the Decatur Area. As coach of the Decatur High School boys and girls tennis teams for 10 years and private coach in the community, I focus on stroke production, match-situation drills, strategy, mental toughness, repetition and practice, fitness, and having fun. I structure my lessons on an individual basis — I like to get to know my students’ strengths and weaknesses and teach to/improve upon those through dead/live ball drills, simulated match play, and in-depth analysis.

Hobbies
writing, going to see live music, hiking, reading, cooking
