About Brian
Hello! I’m 23, a recent college grad from UVA, and have just moved out to LA. I have played tennis competitively for almost my whole life, traveling to tournaments as a junior then playing on the club team at UVA, helping us to reach the finals of the 2012 Tennis on Campus National Championships as the no. 1 singles player. I’m 5.0 USTA rated and have continued to compete in men’s open cash tournaments following graduation.
Teaching Experience: 2 years
Teaching Style
I will naturally tend to focus most on groundstrokes and serve the most, but of course we can work on whatever you feel you need help on. Typically the structure of a lesson would be me feeding you groundstrokes (we can also do advanced groundstroke and footwork drills, depending on your level), followed by a some volley and overhead practice, and then serves. I try to help all my students to hit fundamentally sound, topspin shots and to get a reliable serve as these are the most important components for improvement for most recreational players. For more advanced players (4.0 or 4.5+), we can work on these same fundamentals, adding pace and spin to your shots, drilling or strategy.
