About Dave
I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and introduced to tennis at a young age. I played and taught tennis in the New Jersey and New York area until I moved to North Carolina. I’m a member of PTR, USTA, USRSA and have been a professional teaching pro since 1992. I have certifications as an Adult Development Instructor through PTR and a certificate for a Professional Instructor for 10 and under development. I continue to attend many USTA workshops and PTR Symposiums to stay current with teaching styles, equipment, concepts of better teaching and how I can pass on what’s new in tennis and our industry.

Teaching Style
Fun first. If the lesson is for youth, I use the graduated length method. I use age-specific net heights, racquet length, and court size if available. For adult,. the same if need. For competition students I focus on error detection, followed by solution. With all ages and levels, some direction and lots and lots of balls. At the end of lesson, I recap and let them know what the next lesson is going to be.
