About David
USPTA Elite Tennis Professional, David Lloyd has over 30 years of tennis experience. David moved to Bonita Springs in 2012 to work at Bonita Bay Club. Prior to this David was the assistant pro at Jacaranda West Country Club in Venice, Florida. At Jacaranda West, David was responsible for growing the adult and junior tennis programs as well as developing tennis clinics and social activities. David was also the Tennis Professional at Maple Leaf Country Club where he coached the Men’s Peace River League Teams and gave private tennis lessons.
After a successful junior career in South Carolina, David played on the Men’s Tennis Team at Francis Marion University. With a winning collegiate tennis record for the Patriots, David graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. After graduation, David was offered a Tennis Professional position at the Birchwood Tennis Center in Warrington, England.
In 2010, David started his company Traveling Tennis Pros, where he manages other pros, who travel around Florida teaching tennis. Customers for Traveling Tennis Pros usually include vacationers visiting Florida who are looking for tennis lessons.
In Sarasota County, David assisted the USTA as the Local League Coordinator, where he worked on several projects. One project of top priority was starting the first 10 & under tennis league for Sarasota County. Another top priority was assisting with the creation of a 10 & under event at the first annual Sarasota Sports Festival.
Most recently David has played pro exhibition matches throughout Florida and various sectional tournaments, as well as Ultimate Tennis and USTA leagues.

My teaching style is based on 3 steps. Teach it, Drill it then Play it. I always ask my students what part of their game they would like to work on. Then I create a fun lesson plan from their input.
