About Douglas
I have been teaching tennis since 1988 and was a member of the USPTA for more than 15 years. For 10 years I was the director of tennis at the Lauderdale Yacht Club. In 2000 I moved my family back to Arizona and was the tennis director at the Scottsdale Athletic Club. For nearly 18 years I spent eight plus hours a day on the courts teaching lessons and clinics. Other certifications in my past include the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I left the tennis industry and worked in several companies, mainly consumer electronics and software. I have an extensive teaching background that includes top junior players, league players and beginners.

Teaching Experience: 20 years

Teaching Style
If you are a competitive junior you will understand my teaching style is very similar to the system being taught in Spain. For recreational players, I work with current strokes and maximize playing potential. My background in sports medicine and training for the sport will help you off the court as well as on the court.

Hobbies
Other than playing tennis, I ski, play ping pong and follow sports very closely. My daughters have grown and left the nest and I’m looking to reapply myself back to teaching others the great game of tennis.
