About Eric
Hey! My name’s Eric, and I am looking to take on more students who want to rapidly take their tennis game to the next level! Tennis has opened doors for me and more importantly has become a sport that I’m looking forward to playing for the rest of my life. Now I’m passionate about coaching aspiring players of all ages and skill levels on Cape Cod! My qualifications include being a former sectionally ranked (no. 3 in New England) and nationally ranked junior, having more than one year of teaching lessons to players of all ages at Boston College, coaching the Mashpee Middle School tennis team for one season, being a PTR certified tennis instructor, and serving as the current teaching pro at a local club.

Teaching Experience: 6 years

Teaching Style
I always do my best to cater to what the player wants to focus on, but a standard lesson would look something like this: warm up (this could include dynamic exercises and then a racquet warm up, or just the actual hitting part), ball drills and/or rally drills (aside from practice for you, this will also give me an opportunity to analyze your play and pinpoint areas to work on improving), skill development (we discuss one or more skills to focus on improving depending on where you are at development-wise and this could range from using the correct forehand grip, to footwork drills, to advanced singles point development tactics), and game development (we put skills into action in game situations focused on each specific area of improvement). Of course, this is only an example of a lesson plan, and I am more than happy to vary any and everything based on the player’s needs. For example, a lesson with younger children would most likely include more fun games and less detailed instructio
n on my part! My specialties are strategy, tactics and mental game for competitive players and footwork, groundstrokes, and serve for all players.

Hobbies
Aside from tennis, I enjoy a good round of kan jam, cornhole, or any other backyard BBQ-type games. I like going to the beach and my main dream in life is to get cast on the reality show “The Amazing Race” with my mom. Career-wise, I’m getting excited about the possibility of becoming a math teacher and SAT tutor (and tennis coach!), and just like in tennis, I’m a big fan of the deep mental game behind no limit texas hold’em poker.
