About Frank
Hi, my name is Frank. I grew up in a very athletic family in an affluent town in Rhode Island where my siblings (two brothers and one sister) and I each excelled in various sports, including but not limited to hockey, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, sailing, swimming, etc. I’m the only one in my family not to participate in a sporting competition at the national level yet. I’m still trying to get to the Nationals in USTA tennis, having finished second twice in the Sectionals (New England). My father instilled in me and my siblings the sense of healthy spirited competition and fair play which we all exhibit in our lives today in some respect. I began coaching the Barrington, R.I. Junior Varsity tennis team in the spring of 2012 and enjoyed seeing the boys respond to my encouragement and love of the game. It is rewarding when the time and effort pays off by seeing the student get excited about a great shot or a win and thank me for the teaching. Even better is having a student come up to me with overwhelming joy after beating someone they had never previously beaten and credit me with helping.
Teaching Experience: 2 years
Teaching Style
I don’t have a set structure or style, nor do I necessarily specialize in any one part of the game. Each person is an individual and I approach it from that perspective. I see what type personality, experience, commitment and ability I am dealing with and take it from there. So I guess one could say my style is to cater and contour the lesson to each specific need, all the while educating and instructing the mental as well as physical elements of the sport.
Hobbies
Basketball, swimming, weight-lifting, chess, board games. I also enjoy bowling and golfing when I can find the time and possibly a partner. I’m partial to the sounds of the seventies and late sixties as far as music is concerned, but also listen to music from literally every genre. Figuring things out and keeping an open mind and to always learn is also important.
