About Gary
I have been an avid tennis player since I was 9. I played tennis for my junior high school and played no. 1 for my high school all three years. I have had the opportunity to teach for the past 30 years and have been an instructor certified through the PTR organization. Eight years ago I started coaching varsity tennis at the Scotch Plains Fanwood High School (girls in the fall and boys in the spring). I was named “coach of the year” three times for Union County, New Jersey. I am still currently coaching these teams and have had much success with them. During the weekends I teach students ranging from adults to 5-year-olds and have had a lot of success with them as well.

Teaching Experience: 30 years

Teaching Style
I focus my lessons on point of contact and footwork. I believe those are the two fundamentals that make you a good tennis player. I like to work a lot of footwork drills into my lessons as well as teach students how to hit the ball and anticipate where to be in the court.

Hobbies
Music, dining, hanging out and relaxing
