About Kathryn
I’ve been playing tennis since age 4. Ask my father and he’ll tell you I’ve been playing since I came out of the womb. I played top level junior tennis, competing in national and international tournaments: Clay Courts and Eddie Herr are just a few of my favorites. I graduated high school at 17 and finished with a ranking in the top 200 before I went to Southern University on a full Division I college scholarship. As a freshman, I won Freshman of the Year as well as first team accolades in doubles and singles. In total I won three first team singles and three first team doubles awards and was undefeated in my conference all four years in singles. Playing tennis, understanding tennis, and teaching tennis are three of my main passions. My age only makes me better suited to guide young ones into the tennis community and show them how to be successful. I currently have my B.S. in microbiology from Southern University and my M.S. in biomedical sciences from Touro College of Osteopathic Med
icine in New York City.
Teaching Experience: 5 years
Teaching Style
I am completely qualified to teach children ages 4-18, beginner and intermediate levels. My specialty, however, is ages 10-18, advanced and tournament players. Although it is best I get them young, the technique can be taught at any age. After mastery of technique comes my true specialty, developing game plans and strategy for individual players according to their strengths and weaknesses. However, through my system, they will have no weaknesses when they are done with me.
Hobbies
Medicine (medical school and healing), reading novels (fiction and non-fiction). I love all kinds of music! Right now I am also a social media consultant for the radio show MindSet, which sets out to destigmatize mental health.
