About Leyvis
Hi, my name is Leyvis. I started playing tennis when I was 7 years old in Cuba. At the age of 14 I migrated to USA where I continue to play and consequently obtained a scholarship to play for Saint Thomas University. While attending the college I started coaching as a part time coach during the summer to underprivileged kids. Since then I have continued coaching tennis to all different ages. I love to teach and guide others.
Teaching Experience: 5 years
Teaching Style
Lessons are structured by inspiration but I also try to detail the thought process. First I assess the age and level of the student. Second we softly hit if level permits to build consistency. Third, drills that concentrate on dip forehand or backhand shot. Fourth, drills to practice hitting down the line or cross court. Fifth, drills to practice angles and adding top spin. Next, conduct drills without racquets around the court to build movement and resistance. Last I’d either teach/practice serving and do yoga inspired cool down stretched.
Hobbies
Besides tennis I practice yoga what greatly has taken not only my game but my entire life to a higher dimension.
