About Mahmut
Hi, my name is Mahmut. I’m originally from Istanbul, Turkey, and I’m a graduate of University of D.C. I was the team captain and I had the honor of being the assistant coach for a semester. I won many championships in Turkey (singles and doubles). I played some ETA and ITF tournaments when I was young but had to quit playing tennis when I was 19 because of a knee surgery. Though I had to quit playing professionally I never stopped playing. It’s my passion and I will try to pass on my passion to people until the day I die.
Teaching Experience: 4 years
Teaching Style
I couple the teaching of techniques with tactics. With this approach, I teach technical solutions to compliment tactics according to each player’s level of development. Tactics are the little things a player implements with each shot (speed, spin, placement, etc.) to achieve big picture goals. I give technical guidance but always try to progress to game tactics.
