About Mark
My name is Mark; I started playing tennis when I was 9 years old. I attended Bishop O’Connell High School were I was a four-time State Catholic Champion. I was also inducted into the Bishop O’Connell Athletic Hall of Fame. I was the Winter MATA Champion and had a top ranking in the 18 and unders. I had numerous scholarships to universities and selected James Madison University. I played no. 1 singles and doubles for 4 straight years. I was ranked in the top 50 in the United States for men’s amateur. I taught for Peter Burwash and at the University of West Virginia. I have been teaching high school students and friends.

Teaching Experience: 25 years

Teaching Style
If I am teaching an individual I will tailor the session based upon the level of experience of the student. I am comfortable working with beginners teaching proper foot work, request grip(s) and fundamental stroking. For intermediate and advanced students it will depend upon the individual, their skill level and what they desire to get out of the lesson. I’m comfortable and enjoy teaching match strategy. I feel comfortable saying there are few instructors who have as much experience as I have.

Hobbies
I enjoy going out to dinner, hiking, boating, live music and spending time with my family.
