About Mic
I am 10-under certified and have assisted with 10-Under Quickstart training workshops in the area. I have also developed and conducted my own high performance clinics and programs which produced some of Central PA ’s top players for high school and USTA junior tournaments, many of whom have gone on to play NCAA collegiate tennis.I have worked with many individual adult players and USTA adult league teams, which have advanced to post-season play and improved their NTRP rating in a year or less.I have a unique background working in country clubs and commercial and private clubs, which gives me a distinct advantage of being able to adapt and relate to my clients needs. I was also named the 2013 USTA Pennsylvania Pro of the Year. I compete in USTA leagues and tournaments and am nationally ranked in men’s 35 singles and doubles. I am also ranked no. 1 in singles and doubles for Middle States in men’s 35. I am a proponent of continuing education and have attended USPTA and USTA Mid-Atlantic conferences, the Southern conference, and the Middle States conference as well as a USTA TAUT workshops. Teaching Experience: 20 years
Teaching Style
I integrate teaching tactics along with technique and focus on specific situations to maximize improvement in the shortest amount of time possible. I am a player-centered coach. My teaching is about the players’ experience on the court and emphasis on their learning and appealing to their specific learning style. It is never about talking about how much I know, but rather having a highly interactive conversation about the various options in each situation.
Hobbies
Off the court, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young daughters.
