About Michael
I have been a high-level competitive tennis player for many years, progressing through USTA tournaments on into the Division I collegiate level at Sacred Heart University. Before Sacred Heart, I played a couple of years at Division III Allegheny College where I was a two-time all-conference singles selection, became captain as a junior and was a representative of the team on the student-athlete committee. At Sacred Heart, I was named captain my senior season and received the student-athlete award for the highest GPA on the team after my first semester. In addition to my playing experience, I have many years of coaching experience. I have organized and run my own private lessons and programs, and have coached at various country and athletic clubs. I am currently coaching out of Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, NJ, and locally on my own, and am eager and available to work with you when our schedules can match.

Teaching Experience: 9 years

Teaching Style
Depending on the player’s level, I will run either higher level drills/point construction/strategic play or basic fundamentals of the game with a beginner. I believe in mixing in live-ball with structured drilling in order to maximize the duration of the lesson. I will look to focus on the player’s strengths and hone in on the importance of using them while also improving weaknesses.

Hobbies
I am a sports junkie. I am passionate about playing and watching sports. In addition to tennis, I play golf recreationally, listen to hip-hop/house music, hang with friends and family, get into the gym and do freelance sports writing in my downtime.
