About Mike
Hi, my name is Mike. I have been playing tennis for 44 for years and love it as much today as I did the day I started. Twenty two years ago I decided I wanted to teach tennis and to become an ambassador of the game. I went to the Professional Tennis Registry in Hilton Head and took a week-long course and passed a very difficult test to become a professional tennis instructor. I’ve attend 7, five day log tennis symposiums to improve my teaching skill as well as keeping my skills up to date through online videos, weekend tennis symposiums, and teaching magazines. I’ve coached the girls Mahopc, NY high school team for two years, coached a 4.0 USTA ladies team for 4 years and I am currently working at Legacy Tennis in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Teaching Experience: 22 years

Teaching Style
For beginners I try to give them clear and simple instructions to help them quickly get to play points and see how they are improving. For intermediate players I don’t try to change their games, but help them improve some of their existing strokes and then teach them new strokes that will add to their game. With young kids I try to balance teaching them the proper strokes integrated with fun games that help them learn and love the game.
