About Mike
My teaching experience includes head coach of a large class high school team, head pro at indoor and outdoor clubs, director of tennis of an award winning Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous tennis resort and director of tennis for the Van der Meer Tennis University Midwest. I have been a teaching pro in Kansas City for the last 20 years at the largest club in the area (14 permanent indoor and eight outdoor courts). I prefer to teach adults.

Teaching Experience: 45 years

Teaching Style
I teach the style that best suits that student and his or her situation and goals. I have taught students with Eastern, Continental, Semi-Western, and Western grips; open and closed stance; and students with two hands on both sides as well as students with one handed forehands on both sides. I have worked with students with various injuries or physical challenges as well. I love teaching tennis and discovering what works best for that individual and helps he or she play their best game, given each unique situation.

Hobbies
I love most sports and have traveled to more than 30 countries, many of them several times. I have had 13 poems published and enjoy a varied list of activities. I will or have tried most things at least once!
