About Paul
I started playing tennis at age 12, and by age 15 I was the no. 1 tennis player on my high school team. I played at the no. 1 position in H.S. for 3 years, and achieved medals and awards. I played 4 years of College / University tennis on scholarship, and achieved all-conference honors in three different conferences. I won one conference championship, and my team placed 15th in the country one season. I won the Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, singles and doubles championships, the Wichita, Kansas, doubles championship, and the Atchison, Kansas, singles and doubles championships. I also won the Cameron University Championship, and I had a high winning percentage in high school and college matches. I achieved a lifetime Professional Tennis Teacher’s Certification from the United States National Tennis Academy of Dallas, Texas, in 1999. I have had the privilege of coaching many regional and state Champions. I played tennis everyday for six years with a National Tennis Champion, so I’m familiar with quality shots. I’m eager to teach anyone of any age and ability level to enjoy the game of tennis!
Teaching Experience: 10 years
Teaching Style
My specialties are teaching serve, service returns and ground stroke production. I can teach topspin drives or slice drives. I can teach lobs and drop shots as well. I have experience teaching the one-handed backhand, however I can help a two-handed backhand player through DVD lessons and practice. I can help with hop-step preparation and mental preparation before and during a match. I can help with volley improvement as well as half-volley shots. I will structure my lessons based upon individual needs and goals.
Hobbies
I have achieved success in most other sports as well, and enjoy a variety of fun activities!
