About Roger
My name is Roger Schlimbach and I am from Summit, New Jersey. I have been a student of tennis since I was six years old, taking lessons at Center Court in Chatham, New Jersey, and Mountainside Indoor Tennis Center for more than 10 years. During my tenure at the University of Mary Washington I joined the tennis club and played competitively. Since graduating I have joined the DC Tennis league and am now once again playing competitively.

Teaching Experience: 0 years

Teaching Style
My teaching style is dependent upon the level of experience of the student. For beginners I start with ground strokes at the service line, allowing them to learn to control the ball. Other essentials for beginners would be developing the serve and the ability to volley the ball. Placing shots would be an important skill to learn as a beginner as well as drills teaching students to hit deep ground strokes in the corners of the courts. As students become more advanced I would move them back to the baseline for longer shots and help them to develop different types of shots such as topspin. As players continue to advance I feel the best way to improve your game is to play actual matches with other players of a comparable level.

Hobbies
Golf, baseball, running, reading, mountain biking and tennis
