About Roger
Hi, my name is Roger. I have been teaching full time for the past 15 years during the winter indoor season at West Orange and Brook Lake tennis clubs. I was also the assistant pro at Mountain Ridge Country Club for 12 years. I have spent the last three years teaching at Orange Lawn Tennis club during the summer. I currently added winter hours at the Wayne Indoor Tennis Facility and at Clifton Racket Club. I grew up playing tennis. My father was a coach and tennis was his passion. Having my father as my coach allowed me to learn proper stroke mechanics and fundamentals to play tournament-level tennis. I enjoy using all of my tennis experience to help bring the game to all those willing to learn.

Teaching Experience: 24 years

Teaching Style
My dad was a school teacher and he taught tennis the same way we learn in school. I use my dad’s system of progression where every step is built from a previous step. This system has been highly successful. I have had numerous students who started as children go on to play college tennis. Most of my students have played USTA tournaments.

Hobbies
I am a bit of a fitness fanatic and still enjoy both weight training and cardiovascular exercise. I enjoy reading and spending time with my wife and my two little dogs (a miniature dachshund and miniature poodle). I still play competitively and teach full-time.
