About Alessandro
I started tennis at age 5 in New York City hitting against the walls of play grounds. While playing college tennis I developed a deep interest in the healing and transformative aspects of Yoga, Tai Chi, Dance, and other art forms that all contributed to a new approach to my tennis. It went from needing to win in order to feel good, to needing to enjoy the strokes and use the body efficiently to feel good. What the Yogis and Martial Artists have known for centuries really does work. We are still operating the same basic machinery. Over twenty years of practicing eastern arts and teaching tennis, my method evolved. It is how I play myself, and it is what I teach. It is simple, body/balanced/centered, and so enjoyable! Students are amazed at how much better they play when the busy mind gets a chance to relax while the “Tennis Brain” (located in the body) gets a chance to show it’s stuff. See you on the court 🙂

Teaching Experience: 20 years

Teaching Style
Finding Center

Relaxing the shoulders, arms, hands, chest and upper body allows the lower body to generate the stroke. Learning some of the basics such as grips and where to make ball contact are essential. However, the process focuses on how to have the stroke effortlessly generate from your center of gravity. I can play all day long like this and it feels like magic. It is remarkable learning to trust the body’s ability to work fluidly while the analytical mind takes what is usually a much needed vacation 🙂

When process and experience are placed above results, the results sky rocket. Continually bringing our attention back to the body, one’s timing, balance, and joy for the sport are achieved. It is truly easy and tons of fun!!

Hobbies
Music, yoga, wellness, outdoors, surfing, ocean, good food, healthy living
