About Bharath
I began playing tennis with my dad at age 10. I took classes and played in tournaments all the way through high school. I played four years in high school and one year on the Purdue University intramural tennis team. I relish the role of instructor because I understand that the mental toughness separates the good from the great. I firmly believe that building a strong foundation of healthy court habits develops consistency, which in turn allows the game to come more naturally for my students. Besides tennis, I have coached basketball and held roles as an instructor in multiple fields of fitness. Through all my experience gained in coaching in different arenas, I have learned that it is important to maintain a balance of having fun and striving to become a better player every time you step on the court.

Teaching Experience: 7 years

Teaching Style
My favorite aspect of tennis is the serve. I believe that it is important to build your tennis game around your service game as it helps you become an aggressor and dictate the game over your opponent.

I put an emphasis on fundamentals and teach all my players to play smart using their mind while playing high-percentage tennis. If I see that my student does not understand a lesson, I will try other methods until we are both on the same page.

I do not have one way that I structure my lessons, I believe coaches should adapt to the players needs. The amount of time I spent on each aspect of the game depends per player but overall I like to maintain a balance so my players become overall good tennis players. I like to use visuals on the court to improve accuracy, until muscle memory is attained. Besides stroke work, I make time to improve your physical fitness level, and get to know my student so I better understand how they learn and how I can connect with them on the court.

Hobbies
Besides tennis, I play basketball, swim, practice yoga and meditation. I enjoy reading books and exploring Austin.
