About Brian
Hi, my name is Brian. I started playing tennis when I was 13 years old and I’ve been in love with the sport ever since. I used to play tennis 8-10 hours a day when I was growing up (my mom can validate this statement based on the number of shoes and strings she had to replace!). I went on to become a First Team All-State High School Player and am currently rated a 5.0 by the USTA. During college I taught tennis every summer to both kids and adults. I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping people improve their game. Recently, a close friend of mine took up the sport and I was able to help him improve various fundamental aspects of his game. His first season he went 8-0 in 3.5 and then moved to 4.0 and finished with a 6-2 record. I’m proud of how well he has done, but even more proud of the fact that my passion for the sport has rubbed off on him and now his new passion has rubbed off on his two young boys. I would love the opportunity to share my tennis passion with you.

Teaching Experience: 8 years

Teaching Style
I believe there are two simple keys to being successful at tennis: a clear understanding your strengths and weaknesses. Before I ever feed the first ball in a lesson, I want the student to share with me what shots they feel confident about and what aspects of their game make the anxious. My teaching plan is to tailor each lesson to the unique set of strengths and weaknesses each player has. I will also spend time talking about the mental aspects of the game. Often is the case where the player with the better looking strokes loses the match and this is the result of facing a player with a better mental game.

Hobbies
I enjoy watching football, basketball, and golf. I occassionally get out to watch live music in Nashville.
