About Jeffrey
Throughout the juniors I have always been top-10 in the state of Florida in singes and doubles in every age division, I received a full scholarship to Rollins College where I was a five-time All American (three years in singles and two years in doubles), broke the record for most matches won in Rollins history and was team captain for three years. I do not have a big serve or forehand and I definitely do not consider myself a particularly talented athlete, but I understand the game better than anyone and I know what it takes to win at every age and level of tennis. I am currently in med school but am taking the year off to do dermatology research and I would love to do some coaching on the side to help you or your kid to get more involved in a healthy life-long sport, develop skills and insights to excel and have a lot of fun in the process.
Teaching Experience: 10 years
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with kids because they are open to new ideas and new strategies. Most coaches have it completely backwards. They believe that it is best to blast winners every chance you get, and while the player may make mistakes early on, eventually the balls will start landing. I think this strategy teaches the player how to lose. In every age division you play to win, and in every age division the winner usually is the player who makes less mistakes. As you get more experience, then you can play more aggressively when given the opportunity on a short ball. But it is most important early on to have fun and learn how to win (remember winning is fun).
Hobbies
Learning, playing and enjoying the people around me are some of my interests.
