About Joel
I’m Joel, tennis coach and professional player. I’ve been coaching players of all levels for the past 10 years. My goal as a coach is to provide a fun experience and excellent instruction. I’ve been fortunate to learn much as a player, competing as a junior, in college, and professionally in 18 countries. I’ve been ranked as an ATP player in singles and doubles, played No. 1 singles for the University of Portland, and was ranked top-30 nationally as junior. I try to use my experience from playing and coaching to connect with each person’s unique needs.

Teaching Style
I keep most lessons active with lots of hitting while offering instruction on technique and strategy. It is good to enjoy the experience of playing and improve at the same time. Depending on the player or group, most lessons will have a variety of hitting, drills, and possible point play or games.
