About Mike
I was captain of a mixed doubles 4.0/3.5 team. I completed five semesters of tennis in college and have written a 20-page article all about tennis strategy. I have extensive teaching experience in other fields. I was a driver education and training instructor and trained about 1,000 students of all ages, but especially 15 and 16 year olds. During my Federal Aviation Administration career I was an FAA Academy instructor.

Teaching Style
My teaching does not emphasize simply hitting, but rather the other 50 percent of the equation: decision making. The reason for this is that a sound decision-maker will defeat a banger almost every time. I have done it many times myself. I teach my students how to think on the court and explain why I do everything I do in detail. Students are going to be able to ask me questions before the lesson and after the lesson at no extra charge.
Hobbies
Pro table tennis player (once rated), fitness expert, all-star baseball player, FAA instructor, pro driving instructor. I have played tennis in seven different states.
