About Mj
Hello, My Name is MJ, owner/operator/director of MJ’sTennis Academy in Palm Desert, CA, which is five minutes from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA. I’m 43 years old and a father of three children. I recently returned to teaching tennis full-time after spending the last 17 years working as a social worker. Prior, I spent six years, from 18 to 24 years of age, playing in college for the University of Redlands then playing on the professional Satellite/Challenger Circuit, traveling throughout Europe and Mexico! I love teaching and hitting with all levels. I have lots of patience! I love teaching kids, as I’m the tennis director for my local parks and recreation district. I also teach privately for the exclusive Parker Resort in Palm Springs. I’d love to meet you, so we can talk and play tennis!

Teaching Experience: 15 years

Teaching Style
My teaching style varies from student to student. I pride myself in being able to adapt to individual athletic ability and strengths and weaknesses as well as individual technique. My main focus and area I stress upon is footwork! I believe that good footwork is the key to a successful player!

Hobbies
I love all sports. I played a couple years of high school football and basketball. I love music, all types. I love the outdoors, hiking, camping and spending time with family.
