About Monica
Tennis is a wonderful sport and I was able to learn from Harry Hopman in those early years
of competing in both singles and doubles. High school and Flagler college competition would
soon lead me to a small pro shop at a country club in my home town . After a short time my partner from Ten Pro Services helped me through the process of becoming certified as a Tennis
Teaching Professional. Two and a half years at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress was a wonderful experience as I worked with guest from all over the world. I also was in charge of
the Tournament of Champions on the Virginia Slims Tour and hit tennis balls with Wendy Tournball a top 10 world class player.
Teaching Experience: 40 years
Teaching Style
My teaching style is based upon the PTR’s Standard Teaching Method. It is a sound based user friendly way to learn tennis. Have you ever experienced Dennis Van Der Meer’s “Founder PTR” 10 minute warm up ? I would love to show you how we can hit it out for a little longer and warm up just about every shot in the game even the half volley! I take the first part of our lessons very seriously by stretching specific areas of the body to avoid injury and do not take this time away from the lesson time.
Hobbies
I am a Florida native who loves to be in the garden, I became a master gardner years ago and I love teaching the life cycle of our bug and caterpillar life, which is so important to our survival. I teach about the bottom of the food chain, with emphasis on the butterfly species and responsible
land stewardship.
