About Natasha
Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I am looking forward to helping you achieve your tennis goals and sharing with you what I’ve learned from exceptional coaches throughout the years. I’ve played tennis since I was seven years old and had the opportunity to travel and learn from the accredited Chris Evertt Academy. I qualified as a “super champ” in the USTA tournaments and played on my high school varsity team at Stratford in 2003 – 2007 and thereafter on my university club tennis team. I started to teach private tennis lessons to the neighborhood children on my neighborhood tennis courts in 2005 and since then I’ve acquired private students ranging from children to adults. I’ve worked for the Forest Tennis Club on Memorial and Chimney Rock, K-Factor Sports at Memorial West Community Club, SBISD Tennis Program at Landrum Middle School and Ridgecrest Elementary, and I am currently teaching the junior program at the Missouri City Recreational Center. I contin
ue playing tennis and have been a part of the HLTA and USTA league teams. Apart from tennis, I graduated from the University of St. Thomas majoring in finance, minoring in economics while completing the pre-medicine program. I am currently applying to medical school and on my downtime I enjoy traveling, learning golf and volunteering at MD Anderson Mays Clinic.
Teaching Experience: 8 years
Teaching Style
The basic techniques, including form, footwork and the understanding of tennis are points I like to emphasize during lessons. Creating the foundation of where you can constantly improve your game makes tennis a more enjoyable experience. I structure lessons beginning with learning what the student is interested in and incorporating it with the mentioned techniques while teaching the different strokes (forehand, backhand, volleys, overheads, and serves) by feeding the ball and allowing the student to practice and rally. I also incorporate different exercises in order to use more than one stroke and become familiar with the fluidity of tennis. I conclude the lesson with an informal game-play in order to bring together the lesson and have some fun on the court.
Hobbies
I play the piano and drums; I am currently learning golf; I have taken up hot yoga; I enjoy reformer pilates; and I really love exploring the outdoors whether through biking, kayaking, hiking, etc.
