About Nicholas
Hello! My name is Nick Streibick. I’m a recent graduate from Asbury University. I’ve played tennis for 15 years. Three of those years were for my university, where I was in the starting top 6 for each of those years. We qualified for the NAIA nationals in Mobile, Alabama in 2013. I received All-conference honors in 2014. Tennis has always been my passion, and now that I am not competing at the college level anymore I love being able to help train and serve others. For the last five years I have helped give lessons at local clubs, and private lessons to high school age or younger. I am very personable and easy to approach. No matter what your skill level I encourage you to give me a shot because I want to help you succeed on and off the court.
Teaching Experience: 5 years
Teaching Style
My teaching style is to be able to inspire and provide a positive attitude throughout every lesson. During each lesson your physical, technical, tactical, mental, and environmental aspects of your game will be tested and improved. I like to begin each lesson with a couple different warm-ups and stretching. Go into a short game to become comfortable making contact with the ball and working on foot-work and follow through. Then I will feed balls from the baseline and we will work on different groundstrokes. Next I mix it up and feed a couple of approach shots to get you to the net and work on volleys and overheads. We will spend some time then serving out a bucket of balls or two, then going into some game play to finish out the lesson. I will critique when it is necessary to do so, but it will not be after every shot. I will offer water breaks periodically and maybe ask the student during that time different scenarios to help them mentally and play points out better.
Hobbies
I grew up always staying outside and being active. I love tennis obviously, but here is also a list of things I enjoy doing! soccer, baseball, ping pong, hiking, surfing, sand volleyball, traveling, church, and attending many sporting events. I love being able to support many causes and I hope to one day compete in American Ninja Warrior!
