About Sandy
Sandy has been serving USPTA and the Florida division for 20 years and brings many accomplishments. A coach, teacher, competitor, team player, volunteer, promoter, developer, leader, manager, recruiter, and supporter are the many roles she plays. Her heritage as third generation in Florida Tennis has inspired her to set her own mark in Palm Beach County.

She represents Rising Racquets, a non- profit organization that promotes young tennis athletes that are fulfilling their dreams either to become a professional player and/or a college player, or to have a career in the tennis industry. As a manager, joint venture, recruiter and supporter, she plays an important leadership role to fully engage these young inspiring players (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually).

As a competitor for over 30 years, from the juniors through her adult career, Sandy has experience in sectional, collegiate, national and world competition. An active player on USPTA/Florida Grand Prix Division and USTA Florida and national (singles and doubles), she has a 2010 national No. 2 singles ranking in the women 35’s and over and ranked No. 2 in 2011 and 2012 in the Florida division. Also, she achieved USTA sectional/national (singles and doubles), ITF world ranks (singles), women 40s and received the Bronze Ball at the USTA National Clay Court (doubles). She was named 2011 and 2012 USPTA/Florida section women 35’s players of the year.

As a team player, she not only plays on the Palm Beach County Women Doubles League, where she devotes her time and efforts into weekly play. But also she works together with her colleagues to improve the growth of tennis. She develops a relationship with other industries to enhance the knowledge and the importance of her expertise.
As a volunteer, she has given up her time to learn and grow her leadership, management and relationship skills in USTA/Florida Commission for USTA Jr. Team Tennis, as a USTA schools clinician, and as the Palm Beach County senior league coordinator. She is committed to working with several elementary schools to develop the students’ skills by tutoring and assisting the teacher and providing after-school programs for the kids. She also has the experience in raising funds for major organizations (Macy’s Shop for Cause).

As a promoter and developer, she helps out many events in South Florida (kids day, charities, and seminars). She attends business network groups to enhance her relationships throughout the Palm Beach County area. As a supporter, she makes herself available to everyone, on and off the court. She was also named in 2000 the USPTA/Florida Section Professional Volunteer of the Year and the 2010 – 2011 USPTA/Florida Section Palm Beach District Professional of the Year.

Teaching Experience: 20 years

Teaching Style
As a teacher, she has grown her own court skills, talents and dedication toward her students. She has developed a strong relationship on and off the court with her students in producing the skills that required accomplishing their dreams. Also, she has worked with the Palm Beach County School/ PE teachers with the correlations with the USTA/Florida section to develop their classroom and after-school programs. She then improved herself to become a USTA/NTRP verifier, USTA Sports Science Programs and Certified Cardio Tennis Instructor. She also has the opportunity to assist with the men and women’s tennis team at Northwood University (Both top 10 in the nation).

As a Coach, she has developed team concepts to the juniors players in participating in the USTA/NJTL, USATJT, Red Rallyball and 10 & Under programs. She has developed team state champions, from 18 and under through 10 and under teams and produced sportsmanship award winners. The most rewarding accomplishment was in 1998, winning a bronze metal at the AAU Junior 18 and under Division. Her coaching abilities are still continuing to be successful with the Beach County Senior Tennis League with men and women playoffs guarantee.
