About Anthony
I started playing at the age of 8 at my neighborhood courts where my father taught lessons. After learning the basics I began playing USTA events in my area, and eventually played on my junior high school and high school teams. My family had always had memberships to tennis clubs where I played interclub tournaments as well as had formal coaches for many years. Some of these clubs include University Club (now known as the Galleria Tennis and Athletic Club), Westside Tennis Club, GTAC, Houston Racquet Club, and The MET. After graduating high school I played college tennis for Lone Star College Cy-Fair for two seasons. Currently I am a member of The Downtown Club at the MET in Houston where I play tournaments and leagues. My teaching experience ranges from junior instructor at Westside Tennis Club in 2007, and private lessons in local parks like Memorial Park to this day. I love tennis and aim to make a career out of this sport. My family is tennis crazy as it is a tradition for us. My
style of play would be categorized as all-court and aggressive, utilizing the baseline as well as the net.

Teaching Experience: 7 years

Teaching Style
I start beginners where they should, learning the basics such as grips, fundamental stroke development, hand-eye coordination, and footwork. Intermediate players are taught consistency, stroke adjustment, footwork, and strategy. Advanced players are asked what particular areas of their game they would like to have adjusted, and footwork. I mention footwork in every skill level because of the massive importance it is at all levels.

Hobbies
My hobbies include playing, watching, and reading about tennis. I am also an avid soccer player and enthusiast. I have played competitive soccer since the age of 5. I almost religiously follow European soccer, particularly the English Premier League. I’m a huge Arsenal FC supporter and never miss a match. I enjoy music of many genres. I’m currently studying a degree in Health Communications with a focus in Sport Nutrition at UofH.
