About Cosmin
Hi, my name is Cosmin. I have started playing tennis at 10 years old in Romania. I played national tournaments since I was 12 until college and my best ranking in Romania was 19 at U18. I decided to come in United States because is the only place where I can play high quality tennis and in the same time graduate from a very good university. I was recruited for Bates College and this is where I am playing currently. I am a sophomore and tennis is one of the best things that happened in my life. I started coaching at 17 years old when my coach needed an assistant. I was practicing with elite juniors and very good seniors in order to understand how to construct a tennis lesson and what skills you need to be a tennis coach. Last summer, I was a tennis pro in East Hampton, New York – Hampton Racquet Club – for three months. We had a tennis camp during the week where I was coaching players from 7 to 17 years old and during the weekend I was giving lessons to adults. Recently I received the
PTR Certificate – 10&under which required three days of learning teaching skills and a final exam. The opportunity of being a tennis coach allows me to play the most important and enjoyable sport in my life, plus teaching others everything they need to succeed and watching their progress. I truly believe these two factors will influence me towards a tennis coach career.
