About Matthew
I first learned how to play tennis in my driveway when I was 4 years old. Since then I’ve been in love with the sport of tennis. I played throughout high school and was a division 1 recruit. I started coaching in the summer when I was 16, and felt an immediate satisfaction in helping others improve their game. I taught tennis full time after college, working with both adults and juniors. I’ve worked with kids of all ages, from 4 year olds just falling in love with the sport, to players on successful college tennis teams. As an adult tennis instructor, I’ve worked with beginners picking up the racket for the first time, all the way up to former college players looking to improve aspects of their game.

Teaching Style
My lessons usually involve breaking down any issues students have into small individual parts. Addressing one small issue at a time allows a student to gain confidence with the progress they are making. That momentum is a powerful tool for carrying students through massive improvements in their game.
Hobbies
Besides tennis, my passion is the sport of triathlon. I am usually always in training for a road race or triathlon. To date, I have run 3 marathons, including Boston twice. I also work with dogs, and am a huge animal lover.
