About Rachel
My passion is tennis, and it has been my entire life!! Growing up my dad started me off in tennis during the summers while I played and competed in other sports during the school year (volleyball, soccer, basketball, track, etc.) When I reached high school I chose to focus solely on tennis, in the hopes to get a scholarship. During the summers I taught tennis, for a private country club, at the Nike tennis camps at the Univ of AL and privately at local courts. After a year of high school my parents and I decide that home schooling would allow me to really advance in tennis, as I was missing too much school to travel. During that year of homeschooling I attended the Smith Sterns Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, SC. While there I was doing “three-a-day” workouts and traveling every weekend to compete. After returning home, due to my dad’s health I went to a school that allowed me to graduate early from high school. During my junior years I finished as number two in the state of AL and nu
mber 91 in southerns. I went to the Univ of Montevallo on a full tuition scholarship as the number one singles and doubles player and later transferred to the Univ of Mobile on a full tuition scholarship as the number three singles and number one doubles player. After graduating I have continue to play and occasionally compete. Tennis was and still continues to be my love.

Teaching Experience: 8 years

Teaching Style
I think I am a well rounded instructor. It all depends on what the player needs most. I believe there is a balance between feeding balls, conditioning and point play. I also pride myself on the mental part of tennis. I understand exactly what it is like to compete under pressure and against those difficult cut throat players.

Hobbies
All sports, including water sports! I love my family and regularly see them. I enjoy fun social gatherings with friends while meeting new ones.
