Professional tennis players are pretty active on social media. The ATP and WTA tours have selfie-enthusiasts, photographers and dog-lovers. MyTennisLessons decided to scope out top players’ Instagram accounts to find out who are the most fun to follow.
1o. Victoria Azarenka: vichka35
Who? The Belrusian player has a no. 10 singles ranking thanks to the help of her mother, who also serves as her coach. She didn’t fare as well in Wimbledon, but made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open this year.
She posts: Screenshots of her snapchats, an array of hairstyles and photos of her boyfriend, Redfoo of the rap duo LMFAO.
Why she’s #10: She’s a sweetheart who also kicks some serious butt on the tennis court.
9. Elena Vesina: vesnushka86
Who? The native Ukrainian currently resides in Sochi, Russia, where she is coached by her father. Vesina has two WTA singles titles and stands at a 47 singles ranking on the tour.
She posts: Selfies, what she’s wearing and where’s she’s traveling
Why she’s #9: We like fashion and photos of foreign places.
8. Jack Sock: jacksock10
Who? At no. 76, Sock, age 21, has made quite a name for himself. He’s the youngest American on the tour and his nickname is “J. Sizzle.”
He posts: Quite a few collages. He makes good use of the Picstitch app.
Why he’s #8: We can tell he puts a lot of time and effort into those collages. He even made one for girlfriend Sloane Stephens’ birthday. Awwwww.
7. Sloane Stephens: sloanestephens
Who? The 21-year-old from Florida had her first close top-ten breakthrough last year, coming in at no. 12. She lost in the first round of Wimbledon this year and currently ranks at 22.
She posts: A lot of glam modeling shots.
Why she’s #7: Because she’s fierce on and off the court.
6. Fabio Fogini: fabiofogna
Who? Ranked 15th in the world, Fogini became the first Italian player since 1978 to finish in the top 20. He lost in the third round this year in both Wimbledon and Roland Garros.
He posts: Shirtless pics, goofy faces and snapshots with friends and family
Why he’s #6: Based on his photos, he seems like a pretty chill guy, even if he is a bit temperamental and dramatic on the court.
5. Tomas Berdych: tomasberdych
Who? At no. 5 on the tour Berdych has nine singles titles. The Czech native lost in the round of 32 at Wimbledon.
He posts: Shots of himself and his girlfriend, selfies around the world and an apparently very important wristwatch
Why he’s #5: The wristwatch pictures get pretty artsy.
4. Janko Tipsarevic: tipsarevicjanko
Who? Tipsarevic is currently 147th on the ATP tour, but once stood at no. 8 in 2012. The Belgrade, Serbia, native hasn’t played a match this year.
He posts: Sweet photos of his baby daughter.
Why he’s #4: He’s a loving father. Doesn’t it make your heart melt a little?
3. Casey Dellacqua: caseydellacqua
Who? Dellacqua, of Sydney, Australia, crushed it in her home country’s open this year, losing to a top 50 player in the round of 16. She currently has a career-high ranking of 36.
She posts: More baby pictures!
Why she’s #3: Her baby hung out with Roger Federer and she proclaims Rog is son Blake’s “mancrush.” Blake also rocks a snapback.
2. Serena Williams: serenawilliams
Who? The top player on the tour has 17 grand slam singles titles to her name.
She posts: Herself in bikinis, ballgowns and … superman pajamas?
Why she’s #2: Because Serena always ranks at the top.
1. Svetlana Kuznetsova: svetlanak27
Who? The Russian player ranks at no. 26 on the tour and made it to the quarterfinals of the French Open this year.
She posts: A lot of things, but the pictures of her adorable pup are the best.
Why she’s #1: Because dogs are better than people.
