Bryan Brothers Out in First Round of US Open

Bryan brothers did not have the 2015 that they or any of us expected. The #1 doubles team was sent home this US Open in the first round by fellow American team Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson. We have to give Querrey and Johnson props. The two had dismal singles draw appearances, both out in the first round, but made up for it. The two stayed loose, served strong, and went for their shots. It was just unfortunate that it was America’s favorite doubles team on the other side of the net.

The Bryan brothers have been struggling all year. While this first round loss is their worst result, they were unable to go the distance at any of the 2015 major tournaments. This hasn’t happened since 2004.

  • Australian Open – R3 Loss
  • French Open – F Loss
  • Wimbledon – QF Loss
  • US Open – R1 Loss

The question remains: is this the start of the end of the Bryan brothers era or can we just chalk it up as a bad year? We can only hope for the latter.
