Federer Falls In France To Top American John Isner

The BNP Paribas Paris Masters 1000, the final regular-season tournament of the ATP schedule, is currently unfolding in France. The round of 16 matches are in action today, featuring each of the top 10 players in the world.

Through the first round of play, only two of the 16 seeds in the 32-man draw went down. Marin Cilic fell to Grigor Dimitrov in two tough tie-breakers, while Victor Troicki upset the 15 seeded Feliciano Lopez.

Fed took on the top American John Isner in an exciting three-set battle that came down to the very end. Isner’s dominating serve proved to be too much today, which he leaned on for a victory in the third-set tie-breaker after splitting the first two.

Novak Djokovic took down hometown favorite Gilles Simon this morning in straight sets, as Andy Murray destroyed David Goffin while only losing 1 game.
