About Dave
I am originally from Wisconsin and a true green and gold Packer fan. In high school I played football, baseball and basketball. I played shortstop and was captain of my high school team. I played shortstop at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. At age 28 I started playing tennis. At 30 I played on the tennis team at Northern Michigan University and completed my bachelor’s degree. I went on to complete the Tennis Technology program at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. This two year program, directed by Steve Smith, was the first program in the United States to train teaching professionals in all aspects of the tennis industry. During that time I was certified by the USPTA, USPTR, became a lifetime member of the USTA, directed the college P.E. tennis program, and was assistant pro at Hollytree Country Club. I was the first president of the Tennis Technology Honors Club. I taught for Vic Braden in Ankum, West Germany, before coming to the Green Valley Spa in May of 1987. In August of 1987 I became co-director and in 1988 I became director of the Vic Braden Tennis College franchise in St. George, Utah. In 1998 I was awarded “Regional Advisory Staff Member of the Year” for Wilson Racquet Sports. The tennis programs at Green Valley and I have been featured on: “The Tennis Magazine Show,” “Tennis Extras,” “Short Takes” for ESPN Fitness Club and “Inside Out,” a sports program from San Jose, CA, as well as Tennis Magazine and Tennis Week. Since 1996, Tennis Magazine has awarded Green Valley as one of the “Top 50 Greatest Tennis Resorts” and The Vic Braden Tennis College in Utah one of the “Top 25 Greatest Tennis Camps.” In 2000 the program was designated one of the “Top 5 Tennis Programs,” by Tennis Magazine. Tennis Resorts Online ranked the Vic Braden Tennis College in Utah the no. 2 tennis camp in the World for 2005! I was a member of Vic Braden’s Staff and have taught for Vic all over the United States, Germany and assisted Vic in his research at the 2001 Mercedes Benz Cup. In 2004 I co-founded Court Think Tennis and continued to operate the Vic Braden Tennis College Franchise until 2010. Since forming Court Think Tennis, which specializes in tennis program management for clubs and resorts, I have held camps in Wyoming, Wisconsin, the Homestead Resort in Michigan, at the Westward Look Resort in Arizona and the Fairmont Orchid Resort, Hawaii. I was also running the tennis operation at the Red Rock Country Club in Las Vegas. Today people from all over the United States, Canada and Europe attend the Court Think Tennis Camp in St. George, Utah. I am married to Lisa and we have three beautiful daughters.
